The field map modifies the characters so that they can explore a smaller scale environment. There is a compass and a mini-map that includes towns, locations, and enemy icons. When an opponent icon is triggered, the battle will begin. In conflicts and settlements, the characters move around the area in a manner comparable to human beings.
