Although other games have been developed in the realm of the iconic board game, this one is most similar in spirit, if not mechanics, to the tabletop game that started it all. The year is 3025, and the galaxy is trapped in a never-ending cycle of war, fought by aristocratic families using massive, mechanised combat vehicles known as BattleMechs. Mechs are extremely customisable: you can select not only their chassis, weapons, and armour, but also more detailed tech systems that influence their movement and targeting.
You can even upgrade your mechs using pieces taken from vanquished opponents. Pilots can also be upgraded, with skill trees allowing you to differentiate even identical mechs on the battlefield. However, your forces do not end with the lance; you may also manage and enhance your dropship and support squads.
